MICHAEL ALBERT / Modern Pop Artist Experience : Library Programs

Michael Albert, an American pop artist renowned for his “Cerealism” collages crafted from cereal boxes and other consumer packaging, offers a distinctive program called the “Modern Pop Art Experience” to libraries and educational venues across the United States. He began visiting libraries after the release of his book, an artist’s autobiography titled, “An Artist’s America” which was published by Henry Holt in 2008. The book can be found in libraries across the USA or purchased directly from Mr. Albert at his SHOP.

This art enrichment program typically includes:

Artist Talk: Albert shares insights into his artistic journey, influences, and the evolution of his collage techniques. He shows numerous examples of his work in the form of posters he has self-published over the past 25 years.

Hands-On Collage Workshop: Participants of all ages engage in creating their own collages using recycled materials, particularly cereal boxes, fostering creativity and environmental awareness.

Free Poster Giveaway and Signing: Attendees receive complimentary posters featuring Albert’s artwork, with opportunities for personalized autographs. He usually offers a selection of 14+ limitedition posters.

Albert’s workshops have been hosted in hundreds of libraries nationwide and in Canada & Europe. References are available upon request and art-icles and information can be found online by Googling “Michael Albert Pop Art Programs.”

His programs are designed to be inclusive, catering to children (school age & up), teens, and adults, and emphasize themes of  recycling and sustainability through art. Often the programs are Multi-Generational where people of all ages can work together and share a creative learning experience.

By bringing the Modern Pop Art Experience to libraries, Michael Albert not only educates participants about pop art but also encourages ongoing self-directed learning, hands-on creativity, making art accessible and engaging for diverse audiences.
